Visiting a Pulp Paper factory that employs Child Labour
No latest data on child labour in Pakistan has been compiled, and the seriousness of no government to combat child labour is evident from the fact that no survey on child labour was carried out over a decade. The last survey in 1996 figured out 3.3 million child labourers in Pakistan, out of which 2.4 million (73 per cent) were boys and 0.9 million (27 per cent) were girls.

Grameen Bank (GB) provides credit to the poorest of the poor in rural Bangladesh, without any collateral. The seminar was a joint effort of Bahrain’s Public Commission for the Protection of Marine Resources, Environment and Wildlife, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). It engaged relevant stakeholders in discussions on Climate Change in the areas of Adaptation, Mitigation, Technology and Finance. Discussions focused on the Copenhagen negotiations (COP15) and its impact.
